Imagine walking into an environment expecting to see or talk to a parent, child, co-worker, or an innocent by-stander and seeing them on the ground unconscious. What do you do? You are talking to a person and they collapse without warning. What do you do? You are driving along the highway and you witness a vehicle accident, you stop to help and there is a victim lying unconscious. What do you do? You are at dinner and your child or spouse begins to choke, seizure, or has a stroke. What do you do? You are at the playground and you notice a child lying on the ground not moving. What do you do?

These are topics covered in CPR/AED/First Aid course. Learn to feel confident in saving a life. I am proof that early detection and CPR works, I without warning fell unconscious once and a friend had taken a CPR course, was able to administer CPR on me and I survived. (Thanks Ely!!!) You too can save a life with Save A Life CPR training. The great thing that allows Save A CPR to stand out is the convenience of taking the course at your location, including nights and weekends to fit your working schedule.

The release of the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care marks the 50th anniversary of modern CPR. These Guidelines are the result of a comprehensive evaluation and analysis of research and scientific advances. The good news is that very little has changed. Although the changes are minor, they were created specifically to save more lives.
Each year there are about 350,000 instances of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in the US and Canada alone. Even with the latest and greatest science the survival rates are not good enough, but they are getting better.
The following are the key changes in Adult BLS:
• Immediate recognition of SCA is re-emphasized.
• Removed the ‘look, listen and feel’ sequence.
• Emphasis of “Hands-Only” CPR for the UNTRAINED rescuer.
• Change CPR sequence from A-B-C to C-A-B: begin with compressions.
• Emphasis placed on using other rescuers to assess CPR performance, improve delivery and minimize interruptions.
• Continued de-emphasis on pulse check for healthcare providers.
• Train professional rescuers in a team approach to emphasize quickly delegating roles initially and as each member arrives so that BLS tasks are performed simultaneously instead of sequentially
